LE
Samsung Washing Machine
Severity: CriticalWhat it means
Samsung washer LE error means moisture has been detected by the leak sensor in the bottom of the machine — Samsung's 'Water level or leakage error' on older display panels.
LE is the legacy form of the same fault newer washers show as LC.
Affected Models
- Samsung Front Load Washer
- Samsung Top Load Washer
- Samsung AddWash Washer
- Samsung EcoBubble Washer
- Samsung QuickDrive Washer
Common Causes
- Inlet hose loose at the back of the machine
- Door seal (rubber gasket) worn or torn
- Drain pump or its gasket leaking
- Detergent drawer overflowing due to overdosing
- Water level sensor faulty
How to Fix It
-
Unplug at the wall.
Switch off and unplug.
Look for visible water on the floor under and around the washer.
Mop up so you can see fresh leaks more easily. -
Check inlet hose connections.
Hand-tighten both ends of the inlet hose at the back of the washer.
Inspect the rubber washers inside; perished washers are the most common single cause and replacements are a few pence. -
Inspect the door seal.
Run a finger around the rubber gasket on the door looking for tears, holes, or detergent build-up holding mould.
A torn seal needs replacement; a dirty seal needs cleaning with a 50/50 white vinegar and water mix. -
Clean the detergent drawer.
Pull the drawer out and rinse it.
Check the housing inside for blocked holes — these cause water back-up that drips down the front of the machine and reads as a leak.
When to Call a Professional
If hoses and seals are dry but LE keeps appearing, the leak sensor itself has failed and reports false moisture — needs technician replacement.
