OE

Samsung Washing Machine

Severity: Critical

What it means

Samsung washer OE error means too much water has entered the tub — Samsung's 'Overflow error' on older display panels.
OE is the legacy display code for the same fault that newer models show as OC.

Affected Models

  • Samsung Front Load Washer
  • Samsung Top Load Washer
  • Samsung AddWash Washer
  • Samsung EcoBubble Washer
  • Samsung QuickDrive Washer

Common Causes

  • Water inlet valve stuck open mechanically
  • Pressure sensor (water level sensor) faulty
  • Pressure sensor hose blocked, kinked, or detached
  • Control board misreading the sensor signal
  • Wiring fault between sensor and control board

How to Fix It

  1. Close the cold water tap.

If water is still entering with the cycle cancelled, turn off the tap behind the machine straight away to stop further fill.

  2. Drain the tub.

Run a Drain & Spin cycle.
If the washer won't drain on its own, manually empty via the front debris filter (front-load) or the drain hose at the back.

  3. Inspect the pressure sensor hose.

    Remove the back panel.
Find the clear plastic tube from the tub to the pressure sensor and confirm both ends are firmly connected.
    Look for splits or kinks.

  4. Test for repeat.

After draining, start a short cycle.
If OE returns immediately, the inlet valve or pressure sensor has failed and needs replacement.

When to Call a Professional

If water keeps entering after you cancel the cycle, close the cold water tap immediately and call a technician — the inlet valve has failed open.
