Pink Light
Alen Air Purifier
Severity: MinorWhat Does This Error Mean?
The pink indicator ring on an Alen BreatheSmart is the filter replacement reminder. It glows pink (not red for danger) to signal that the HEPA filter has reached its rated runtime. Replace the filter and press the Filter Reset button for 3 seconds — the light will return to its normal white or blue glow.
Affected Models
- Alen BreatheSmart 45i
- Alen BreatheSmart 75i
- Alen BreatheSmart FLEX
Common Causes
- HEPA filter has reached the end of its rated runtime (typically 6–12 months)
- Filter Reset was not pressed after a previous filter change
How to Fix It
-
The pink light means replace the filter — it is not a malfunction or an error. Order the replacement filter that matches your model.
Alen BreatheSmart filters are model-specific. Check the label on the side of your unit for the model number (45i, 75i, or FLEX).
-
Remove the magnetic front panel, lift out the old filter, insert the new filter logo-side out, and reattach the front panel.
-
Press and hold the Filter Reset button for 3 seconds. The pink light will turn off and the indicator will return to its normal color.
The indicator ring color in normal operation is a soft white or blue glow on most BreatheSmart models.
Frequently Asked Questions
The pink light came on even though I replaced the filter recently — why?
If you replaced the filter but did not press the Filter Reset button, the runtime counter was not reset and the pink light will stay on. Press and hold Filter Reset for 3–5 seconds to clear it.
