E5

Tami4 Water Dispenser

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error E5 means the Tami4's chilled water system is not cooling properly. The cold water temperature sensor or the cooling mechanism has reported a fault, and the unit can no longer guarantee chilled water.

Affected Models

  • Tami4 Edge
  • Tami4 Neo
  • Tami4 Pro
  • Tami4 Classic (cold water models)

Common Causes

  • Cold water temperature sensor failure
  • Cooling compressor or Peltier module fault
  • Poor ventilation around the unit (heat build-up stopping the cooling circuit)
  • Ambient temperature too high for the cooling system to function

How to Fix It

  1. Check ventilation around the unit

The Tami4 needs clear space on all sides (at least 5 cm) to vent heat from the cooling circuit. If it is enclosed in a tight cabinet or cupboard, move it to a more open location.

  2. Check the room temperature

If the room is very hot (above 35 °C), the cooling system may struggle. Move the unit to a cooler spot and see if E5 clears after 30 minutes.

  3. Restart the unit

Hold power for 5 seconds to restart. Some E5 codes clear after a restart combined with better ventilation.

  4. Contact Tami4 service

If E5 persists after improving ventilation and restarting, book a service call. The compressor or Peltier cooling element may need replacement.

When to Call a Professional

Yes — cooling system components require a Tami4 service technician.

Tami4 Error E5 — Cold Water Not Cooling

E5 indicates a problem with the chilled water system. Your Tami4 dispenser has detected that it cannot cool water to the required temperature and has flagged a fault.

First Thing to Check: Ventilation

Before calling for service, check whether the unit has enough breathing room. Tami4 dispensers use either a compressor or a Peltier (thermoelectric) module to chill the water — both generate heat that must be vented away. A unit stuffed into a cabinet or against a wall will overheat and fail to cool.

If Ventilation Is Fine

If the unit has adequate space and E5 still appears, the cooling component itself (sensor, Peltier module, or compressor) has likely failed. This is a job for a Tami4 service technician.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still get hot and room-temperature water while E5 is showing?

Yes — the hot and ambient circuits are independent. You can use those while waiting for a service visit.

How cold should Tami4 water be normally?

Tami4 chilled water is typically dispensed at 4–8 °C. If the water feels merely cool rather than cold, this can be an early sign that E5 is about to appear.
