Battery Not Charging

Holy Stone Drone

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Holy Stone battery not charging is usually a deeply discharged battery or an incompatible USB charger. Use the original charging cable and a 5V 2A wall charger — not a computer USB port.

Affected Models

  • Holy Stone HS720E
  • Holy Stone HS360E
  • Holy Stone F11S
  • Holy Stone HS175D
  • Holy Stone HS710E

Common Causes

  • Battery fully discharged below the LiPo recovery threshold
  • USB charger not providing enough current
  • Faulty charging cable
  • Battery swollen from overcharging or age
  • Charging port on the battery damaged

How to Fix It

  1. Use the original Holy Stone charger and a 5V 2A wall adapter.

Computer USB ports typically provide only 0.5A — not enough for drone batteries. Plug the charger into a wall socket using a 5V 2A adapter. The charging indicator LED turns red when charging and green when full.

  2. Try a different charging cable.

The supplied USB cable can fail at the strain relief point near the connector. Swap for another cable of the same type to rule out a bad cable.

  3. Leave a deeply discharged battery on charge for 30 minutes.

A fully drained LiPo may show no LED activity initially. Leave it connected to a wall charger — a slow recovery charge may begin after 20-30 minutes.

  4. Inspect the battery for swelling.

Place the battery on a flat surface. A swollen battery rocks back and forth instead of sitting flat. Swollen LiPo batteries must be safely disposed of at a battery recycling point — do not charge or use.

  5. Store batteries at 50-70% charge if not flying for more than a week.

Long-term storage at full charge damages LiPo batteries and reduces capacity. Discharge to about 50% before storing. Recharge fully before your next flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Holy Stone drone battery last per flight?

The HS720E gives about 23-26 minutes of flight time per battery. Actual time is shorter in windy conditions, cold weather, or aggressive flying.

Can I fly while the battery is charging?

No. Never fly while the battery is connected to a charger. Always charge batteries completely before inserting them into the drone.
