E03
EcoFlow Portable Power Station
Severity: ModerateWhat it means
EcoFlow E03 means the unit detected a short circuit on one of its outputs and cut power instantly to protect itself.
A short looks like a near-infinite current draw, so the unit shuts down rather than push current into it.
The culprit is almost always a damaged cable or a faulty connected device — not the EcoFlow itself.
Affected Models
- EcoFlow DELTA / DELTA 2 / DELTA Max / DELTA Pro
- EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max / DELTA 3
- EcoFlow RIVER 2 / RIVER 2 Max / RIVER 2 Pro
- On some models a USB-port short shows as a 3-digit code instead (e.g. in the 300-range)
Common Causes
- Chewed-through or pinched 12 V / USB cable with the conductors touching
- Faulty connected device with an internal short
- Damaged AC appliance or extension lead
- Water in a connector bridging the contacts
- Cheap or counterfeit USB cable
- Internal fault in an EcoFlow output port (rare)
How to Fix It
-
Disconnect everything and power-cycle.
Pull every cable from every port — AC, the 12 V car socket, USB-A, USB-C.
Hold the main power button until the unit shuts down, wait 30 seconds, then power on with nothing connected.
If E03 stays away with all ports empty, the fault is in something you were plugging in. -
Reconnect one device at a time.
Start with the lowest-risk item and add devices one by one.
The one that re-trips E03 is the faulty device — or its cable. -
Inspect that cable closely.
Look for cuts, crushed sections, melted insulation, or a connector that's been wet.
A short between the inner conductors is invisible from a distance.
Replace the cable before retesting — don't assume the device is dead until you've ruled out the lead. -
Test the suspect device elsewhere.
Plug it into a wall socket.
If it pops a breaker there too, the device itself has failed, not the cable — stop using it. -
If E03 trips with nothing connected, contact EcoFlow.
An E03 with every port empty points at an internal fault in an output stage.
Don't keep using that output; contact EcoFlow support — under warranty that's a repair or replacement.
