Not Charging Device

EcoFlow Portable Power Station

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Each EcoFlow output type (USB, AC, DC) must be activated separately — press the USB, AC, or DC button to enable the port. If the port is active but the device does not charge, check the wattage of the device does not exceed the port's rating.

Affected Models

  • EcoFlow DELTA
  • EcoFlow DELTA Pro
  • EcoFlow DELTA Max
  • EcoFlow DELTA 2
  • EcoFlow RIVER
  • EcoFlow RIVER Pro
  • EcoFlow RIVER 2

Common Causes

  • Output port not activated — USB, AC, or DC button not pressed
  • X-Boost needed for high-wattage devices (on DELTA models)
  • Device wattage exceeds the port limit
  • USB cable does not support the required charging standard
  • EcoFlow battery level too low to output power
  • ECO mode throttling or turning off output

How to Fix It

  1. Press the output button for the port you are using.

EcoFlow units have separate ON buttons for USB output, AC output, and DC output. All default to off after power-on. Press the relevant button — its indicator light should turn on before the port delivers power.

  2. Enable X-Boost for high-wattage appliances (DELTA models only).

The EcoFlow DELTA's X-Boost feature allows it to power appliances up to 1800W even though the inverter is rated at 1800W. Enable X-Boost in the EcoFlow app or on the display if you are trying to run a device that exceeds the nominal AC output rating.

  3. Check the ECO mode setting.

ECO mode automatically turns off outputs when low current draw is detected. If ECO mode is on, it may turn off the output port when your device is nearly charged. Disable ECO mode in the EcoFlow app for continuous charging.

  4. Check the device's wattage against the port limit.

AC output limit varies by model — 600W on the RIVER, 1800W on the DELTA. USB-C PD output is typically 100W max. High-draw appliances may trigger overload protection and shut down the port.

  5. Try a different cable and port.

A charge-only cable will not trigger USB-C PD. Use a quality USB-C cable rated for at least 60W. Also try a different USB port — EcoFlow units have multiple USB-A and USB-C ports with different ratings.

When to Call a Professional

If no outputs work at all with the unit showing a full battery, the output circuitry may have failed. Contact EcoFlow support.

Frequently Asked Questions

EcoFlow DELTA AC output worked yesterday but does nothing today — why?

Check whether the AC button is still on (indicator lit). Also check whether the EcoFlow app shows the AC output as enabled. If ECO mode was automatically enabled overnight, it may have disabled the output. Press the AC button to re-enable it.

EcoFlow charges my phone but not my laptop via USB-C — why?

Laptops require USB-C Power Delivery at 45–65W or more. Ensure you are using the USB-C PD port (not a standard USB-A port) and a PD-capable cable. Check your laptop's wattage requirement against the EcoFlow's USB-C PD output rating.
