Arlo doorbell solid amber LED means the doorbell is in setup mode, paused, or finalising a configuration step.
This is usually a transient state during setup or after a reset — not an error in itself.
If the LED stays solid amber for more than 10 minutes, the doorbell is stuck in setup and needs to be reset or completed via the Arlo app.

Common Causes
- Doorbell is in setup mode, waiting to be added to the app
- Setup was started but never finished
- Doorbell was paused via the Arlo app
- Recent factory reset put it back in setup mode
- Power-cycle interrupted during setup
- Firmware applied but not yet activated
How to Fix It

Check the Arlo app.
Open Arlo app → look for the doorbell in your device list.
If the doorbell appears as 'Setup in progress' or similar, tap to continue.
The app guides you through the remaining steps. -
Resume setup if interrupted.
If you started setup earlier and were interrupted, the doorbell waits for the next step.
Arlo app → Add Device → walk through the setup flow.
The app picks up where it left off. -
Unpause the doorbell.
If you paused the doorbell from the Arlo app, the amber LED stays solid until you unpause.
Open the device in the app → tap the pause icon (if shown) → confirm unpause.
The LED returns to its normal state. -
Wait for setup to complete.
After applying firmware or finalising configuration, the LED can stay solid amber for a few minutes.
Wait 5-10 minutes before treating it as stuck.
The LED returns to solid blue or pulsing when ready. -
Restart the doorbell.
If the LED stays solid amber for over 15 minutes with no progress in the app, restart the doorbell.
Press the reset/sync button briefly.
The doorbell reboots and either completes setup or returns to a known state. -
Factory reset if stuck.
If restart does not help and the app shows the doorbell as offline, factory reset.
Hold the reset button for 20-30 seconds until the LED blinks rapidly.
Walk through fresh setup in the Arlo app.
