Battery Low

Samsung Smart Ring

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Samsung Health pushes a 'Galaxy Ring battery low' notification at the 15% and 5% thresholds.
The ring has no display — the warning lives on your phone.
Place the ring in the charging case to top up.
The case itself holds about 7 days of charge for the ring, so the case+ring combo only needs a wall outlet about once a week with average use.

Affected Models

  • Samsung Galaxy Ring (all sizes)

Common Causes

  • Normal battery depletion after 5-7 days of use
  • Charging case battery also empty (case feeds the ring)
  • Ring not seated properly in the case
  • Charging contacts in the case dirty
  • Heavy continuous heart rate sampling enabled
  • Background firmware update used extra power

How to Fix It

  1. Place ring in the charging case.

Open the case and seat the ring in the charging cradle.
The case LED indicates ring charging state.
The ring takes about 80 minutes for a full charge from empty.

  2. Confirm the case has charge.

Press the button on the side of the case.
The case LED shows case battery level.
Empty case cannot charge the ring.
Plug the case into USB-C wall power if needed.

  3. Clean charging contacts.

Skin oil and sweat coat the inner ring over time.
Wipe the ring's inner surface with a microfibre cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
Let dry fully before placing in the case.

  4. Reseat in the case.

Lift the ring out, brush off any debris, place it back so the contacts align with the magnetic charging point inside the case.
The case has a specific orientation — the ring should snap into place.

  5. Adjust health tracking intensity.

Samsung Health → Galaxy Ring → Settings.
Continuous heart rate sampling drains the battery faster.
Switch to default (periodic sampling) if you do not need second-by-second data — battery life nearly doubles.

  6. Check for firmware updates.

Samsung Health → Galaxy Ring → Software update.
Newer firmware sometimes improves battery life or fixes a drain bug.
Apply during a session where the case is plugged in.

  7. Test for unusual drain.

Note the percentage when you take the ring off at night.
If it drops more than expected over a 24-hour period, contact Samsung support — battery wear after the warranty period (1 year) is not covered, but a defective unit within warranty gets replaced.
