Sync Failed

Ultrahuman Smart Ring

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Ultrahuman shows a sync failure when the app could see the ring but data transfer did not complete.
This is different from a connection failure — connection works, but the actual data move did not finish.
Cause is usually a flaky Bluetooth link, a long sync after several days offline, or app permissions.
Manual sync from inside the app clears most cases.

Affected Models

  • Ultrahuman Ring AIR (all colours and sizes)

Common Causes

  • Several days of data backlog on the ring
  • Bluetooth dropped during transfer
  • App force-closed by the OS partway through
  • Battery Saver mode throttling background tasks
  • Ultrahuman cloud brief outage
  • Ring time drifted significantly after long offline period

How to Fix It

  1. Pull to sync from the app.

    Open Ultrahuman.
From the home screen, swipe down to trigger manual sync.
The progress bar shows transfer state.
Most stuck syncs clear here on the second or third try.

  2. Stay close during sync.

Keep the phone within a few feet of the ring throughout.
Long syncs (multiple days of data) can take 5-10 minutes.
Walking around the house breaks the link and restarts the sync.

  3. Disable Battery Saver.

Settings → Battery → Battery Saver / Low Power Mode → off.
Both modes throttle background app activity, which breaks sync that needs continuous Bluetooth attention.

  4. Force-quit the app.

Close Ultrahuman completely from recent apps.
    Reopen.
Sync from a fresh app launch often succeeds where a stuck app session keeps failing.

  5. Confirm app permissions.

iOS: Settings → Ultrahuman → Bluetooth and Background App Refresh on.
Android: Settings → Apps → Ultrahuman → Permissions all granted.
Check both — silent permission revokes happen after major OS updates.

  6. Charge the ring briefly.

Below 10% battery, sync becomes unreliable.
Place on the charger for 15-30 minutes, then retry.
Stable Bluetooth needs a stable battery level.

  7. Sign out and back in.

    Profile → Sign Out.
Sign back in with the same account.
This refreshes the auth token between app and Ultrahuman cloud, which sometimes blocks sync from completing.

  8. Wait if the cloud is down.

If multiple Ultrahuman users on Reddit or the official community report the same issue, the Ultrahuman cloud is briefly out.
Sync recovers automatically once service is restored — usually within an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my historical data be lost if sync stays broken?

Up to about a week of data is held on the ring.
Reconnect and sync within that window and nothing is lost.
Beyond a week, the oldest data rolls off the ring.
Plan to fix sync within a few days rather than waiting weeks.
